Cabonne Council has released its schedule for a full day of COVID-safe celebrations across the shire for Australia Day, starting at 8am with breakfasts in several villages and wrapping up with pool parties in dinner in the evening.
Barbecues, family fun and award presentations will be the feature of the day.
In Canowindra, official proceedings will take place in the Community Hall at the Services Club from 1pm to 3pm.
The community's Australia Day awards and honours will be presented there.
Nominations for Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year, Community Group of the Year, Environmental Champion and Sportsperson of the Year were called last year.
There is excellence, community spirit and achievement to celebrate and highlight within our community even following a year so impacted by COVID-19 restrictions.
Cabonne's Australia Day ambassador Susie Elelman, an accomplished multi-media broadcaster, will participate in ceremonies at Borenore, Cudal, Manildra and Yeoval.
Ms Elelman will be accompanied by Cabonne's Australia Day youth ambassador Beau McKenzie and Mayor Kevin Beattie.
Cabonne Council said celebrations across the shire would strive to create the same community atmosphere as previous years, while following government guidelines on gatherings and maintaining a high level of safety.
