Dr and Mrs McGrath attended the dinner to discuss their plans for the site where, in 1993, thousands of world famous 360 million year old fish fossils were discovered.

Dr McGrath spoke passionately of his desire to explore and preserve this huge asset for Canowindra, and of his hope that the local community will throw its weight behind the project as it moves forward.

Thousands of fish fossils across 80 tonnes of slabs were excavated from the site outside Canowindra in July 1993.

Paleontologist Dr Alex Ritchie had just 10 days for the exploratory dig and barely scratched the surface.
