Knowing everything you need to comply with legislation, raise awareness of your enterprise, makes sales and payments, requirements for employment and work, health and safety guidelines and know all about the products you are making and selling is really full-time commitment.
Having a community of other entrepreneurs and business-owners with whom to share ideas, create collaborations and compare circumstances is very comforting and this is the environment the Canowindra Business Chamber provides for members.
President, Mark Brown explains "Members are invited to meetings to ensure transparency and collaborate for future prosperity".
"It's when we come together our town's businesses have mutual strength for the good and the unexpected times, such as the huge floods this time last year."
Relationships with strategic organisations is essential for small towns and a regular activity is meeting with representatives from the Cabonne Council to ensure reliable communication.
According to a survey completed by Canowindra Business Chamber members in October 2023, agriculture and the visitor economy are the sectors which provide greatest turnover and engagement in the 2804 postcode area.
Based on this information, a strategic plan has been developed by the executive and committee which will be shared at the forthcoming End-of-Year dinner on November 28 at The Old Vic Inn from 6.30pm.
Also attending is Vicki Seccombe from Business NSW who is available to answer queries.
All members and those thinking about becoming members are invited as memberships can be paid on the night.
An added incentive is a half-price subsidy for members for the three-course dinner prepared by Alison Beasley at The Old Vic Inn.
Usually $50 per person, the Business Chamber will pay half, including for partners. Non-Members will be charged the full price and drinks are paid for individually.
Please RSVP to Treasurer, Pennie Scott on 0427 44 11 07 by Friday, November 24.
