Producers near Canowindra, Woodstock, Young, Greenethorpe and Grenfell opened their farm gates for a day of learning and open discussion at this year's Mid Lachlan Flock Ewe competition on Thursday, February 1.

Entries were judged by Tom Kirk of Bundemar Merino Stud, Baldry, and Nutrien Livestock specialist Rick Power, Grenfell with Leon, Margaret and Luke Cosgrove of "Glenrock, Greenethorpe, taking out first place. Sheep exhibited by Mark, Jude and Charlie Bryant of Billabourie, Greenethorpe, took out the second place trophy with Hazeldene Pastoral Co of Glenalla, Greenethorpe in third place.
The competition's encouragement award went to Nick Cummins and Peoples Choice went to Leon, Margaret and Luke Cosgrove. The Bryant family took out the Long Wool section and the Cosgrove family took out the Short Wool.
Major sponsors were AWI, Thomas Foods International, Rabobank, Boyd Metal Works and Beecher Wool.
