Jointly funded by the Commonwealth and NSW Governments, the Central West Recovery and Resilience Package is designed to address the urgent needs of the region and bolster its resilience against future natural disasters.
Sessions will be held in Forbes, Parkes and Eugowra.
Eugowra's session will held on Thursday February 22 at the Eugowra Bowling club from 4pm.
The package, which encompasses a range of initiatives aimed at rebuilding and fortifying the region, includes a $40 million Central West Housing Program, a $32 million Regional Transport Resilience Fund, and a $25 million Community Assets Program, among other allocations.
These funds are earmarked for critical infrastructure projects, housing initiatives, and community resilience programs.
"Our first formal meeting of community leaders in the Central West was an important step in delivering the Central West Recovery and Resilience Package. It's incredibly important that we have local leaders guiding the delivery of this package," Joanna Quilty said, Head of Preparedness and Recovery at the NSW Reconstruction Authority.
One of the key components of the recovery effort is the housing program, which aims to address the housing needs of affected residents.
"We invite everyone to come along to share insights and experience with our team," Ms Quilty said.
The Central West Community Leaders Forum, convened for the first time on Wednesday February 14, underscores the collaborative approach being taken to steer the recovery efforts.
Chaired by Member for Orange Phil Donato and attended by federal and local government representatives, the forum discussed strategies for leveraging technical expertise to mitigate future flood risks and enhance community resilience.
"The Forum heard from flooding technical experts on the development of region-wide flood data and risk mapping, which will influence the design of the housing program," Ms Quilty said.
