Member for Cootamundra, Steph Cooke, has unveiled a significant grant investment of $188,620 earmarked for Gooloogong Public School.

The funding is designated to establish a community evacuation centre within the school premises, offering a safe refuge for locals during emergencies such as flooding.
Nick Doyle, principal of Gooloogong Public School, expressed gratitude for the funding, emphasising its impact on the community.
"The funding will allow us to build a demountable building on our school site which will house a fully-equipped kitchen," Mr Doyle said.
"The building will be used in conjunction with our school hall to provide a place of safety for the local community when a disaster occurs," he said.
Describing the benefits of the initiative, Mr Doyle outlined the amenities the evacuation centre would offer.
"The announcement of this funding is a win for the Gooloogong community where we will now have a central evacuation centre, with plenty of room for many people and their belongings, with access to toilets, a landline phone, playground equipment for children and an area to cook and prepare food, have a cuppa and debrief."
Mr Doyle extended appreciation to key contributors.
"I would like to thank our P&C President, Mrs. Emma Marr, who played a pivotal role throughout the application process," he said.
