Despite their commendable efforts, both Woodbridge teams suffered defeats against the George Tooke representative sides, with the league tag team losing 18-42 and the senior men's team falling short with a score of 18-10.
Representing Canowindra in the women's division were Katie Price, Laura Price, Amy Harrison, and Maddie Barrett, while Ryan Clarke, Nathan Barlow, and Luke Watt represented the men's side.
Canowindra Tigers are currently leading the premiership ladder for the men's senior side, while the Canowindra Tigerettes hold the second position for league tag.
Reflecting on the matches, Woodbridge Cup representative team coach Jesse Durning said, "I thought it was really good and I couldn't really fault anyone's effort from our side, it just came down to a lack of polish at the end of sets".
Durning acknowledged the unpredictable nature of rugby league, saying, "that's rugby league though, sometimes the ball bounces your way sometimes it doesn't".
He also recognised the challenge of limited training opportunities, saying, "you're only supposed to train once together and play once together, so there was obviously going to be things missed".
Despite the losses, Durning emphasised the significance of the selection process, saying, "everyone who got picked on our side was picked for a reason".
"The George Tooke side played really well, and that's what happens in rugby league, somedays you win, somedays you lose," he said.
The Canowindra Tigers and Tigerettes are set to take on the Oberon Tigers on Sunday, May 19, at the Oberon Tigers Sports Recreational Grounds.
League tag kicks off at 12:40pm, followed by the first-grade at 2pm.
