A huge crowd of music lovers turned out to Shoal bay Country Club on Friday night to see Australian rock legends The Angels in action. The bumper crowd spanning a variety of age groups poured into the club for the 40th anniversary tour show and they were not disappointed with the performance. “One of our fastest selling shows with a performance that backed up the hype,” the country club’s marketing manager, Peter Lazarus, said. “The set list featured songs from their famous Face II Face album as well as other classic Angels hits.” The Face II Face tour marks the 40th anniversary of the band’s second ever album, Face To Face. Face To Face made an indelible imprint on music history when it was released in 1978, influencing many bands in Australia and worldwide.  The Angels were not to know it at the time, but they had created the musical soundtrack of a generation.  Now, 40 years later, The Angels’ lead guitarist and founding member Rick Brewster, his brother and fellow band founder, vocalist and guitarist John Brewster, lead singer Dave Gleeson, who is also the front man of The Screaming Jets, Nick Norton (drums, vocals) and Sam Brewster (bass) are touring the anniversary show around Australia, and its a show worthy of the celebration.
