Mount Isa put on a cool and classic day for one of the biggest meets of the year at Buchanan Park. Mount Isa cup day is a mid-winter must for locals in North West Queensland and the city put on a sunny if cooler day with a maximum temperature of 23.5 degrees reached around 2.30pm. It was perfect excuse for ladies to dress up in their winter finest with a theme of black, white and gold on the day. Congratulations to Erin Dean who took out a fiercely contested lady of the day award and to horse Loud Enough, trainer Steven Royes and jockey Dan Ballard who took out the cup later in the day, repeating the horse's victory albeit with a different rider in 2019.
